Overview
You are an admin or manager for Playbooks, and you are trying to give one of your representatives a permission group. Administrators and Managers may need to provide specific permissions to users for them to be able to manage plays or teams, skip steps, share plays, etc. This can be achieved by adding user to a permission group with the desired access rights. You might need to gain access to be able to edit current plays and implement new ones.
Solution
NOTE: To follow these steps, you will need access to a user that has the Manage Settings and Manage Permission Groups permissions.
- Create a permission group with the required rights.
Note: Alternatively, you can use one of the default permission groups. By default, new users are assigned to the 'Sales Rep' group. - Assign the user to the required group by following the below steps:
- From the Playbooks Manager Application, navigate to the Teams tab and open the team to which the desired user is assigned. Alternatively, navigate to the People tab and find the required user.
- Click on the required user.
- Click Change next to the current permissions of the user.
- Select the required permission group and click Save.
Note: You can also update permissions for multiple users by marking the yellow checkboxes next to the desired users, clicking ACTIONS and then selecting Change Permissions.
For the permission changes to take effect, have your user log out and back into Playbooks.

Agents can also log in to the Playbooks Manager tool and change users’ permission groups. If you don’t have access to Playbooks Manager, please refer to the Playbooks Access Guide to get Passwordstate access. Passwordstate has the required credentials.
E.g. If you need to give someone Administrative access, you can change their permission group to "Admin" or another group that has the same privileges. You can see details of permission groups by going to Settings > Permission Groups, within the Playbooks Manager application.
