Error: "Duplicate Name, the name Opportunity.Playbooks_Play_Status_c is already used" When Installing Unmanaged Package for Salesforce

Overview

You may encounter the following error message when trying to install the Unmanaged Package for Salesforce:
Duplicate Name, the name Opportunity.Playbooks_Play_Status_c is already used on Component Type: Custom Field Definition. Please rename existing component.

Solution

This issue may happen when you have an older version of the Unmanaged Package installed and some of the Playbooks fields already exist in your CRM.

To resolve this issue, you have two options:

• Please rename the fields that are mentioned in the error message in your Salesforce instance.
  Please note that only 4 fields are displayed on the web page in the error message; there may be more conflicting fields - please check the full list of duplicate fields in an email for Failed Unmanaged Package installation which you should receive as a Salesforce administrator. After you have renamed all of the existing fields, try installing the unmanaged package again.
  
  
• Alternatively, you can select the option to not install conflicting components before trying to install the Unmanaged Package again.
