Overview
You may want to check if there are updates available for the Playbooks extension, or you have been instructed to update it, and you want to know how.
Solution
You can follow the steps below to update the Playbooks Google Chrome extension:
- Click on the three dots on the top right of Google Chrome (usually just below the X to close).
- Select the option "More tools".
- Go to "Extensions".
- On the extensions page, make sure that "Developer mode" is turned on (this is found on the top right of the extensions page, and the "On" position is to the right, usually blue in color, as seen below).
- Click "Update" (this is found near the top left of the screen, only when developer mode is on).
- Close and reopen Google Chrome (if you can't restart Chrome at the time, refreshing the page that has Playbooks on it will sometimes work too, so select the Playbooks window and press ctrl+R).
- You can then verify the Playbooks extension currently installed version by following steps 1 to 3 again (see an example below marked in red).
- The version should match the latest one reported in the Chrome Web Store. You can check this by selecting "Details" (see the example above marked in green). Then scroll down and click on "View in Chrome Web Store".
- On the page that opens, scroll down and you will see the latest version available, and the date of the last update (the screenshot below is just an example, the information shown may change over time).
- The version should match the latest one reported in the Chrome Web Store. You can check this by selecting "Details" (see the example above marked in green). Then scroll down and click on "View in Chrome Web Store".
Note: The Playbooks Manager Portal is fully web based, and as such, it doesn't need to be updated on the users' end.
